Strength in Quiet
Mark 9:23Jesus said to him, "If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes."
A desperate father hears Jesus turn "if you can" back on him: belief opens the field of possibility. Honest faith often sounds like the father's follow-up in the fuller story—help my unbelief. Jesus does not require theatrical certainty; He invites trust that brings the need anyway. On this last full Advent day before Christmas Eve, bring the situation you have almost stopped praying about. Say the small true thing: I believe; help the part that does not. Possibility belongs to those who entrust themselves to Jesus, not to those who never wrestle. Let belief be a relationship verb. Christmas eve approaches with the same Lord who answered that father still able to act. Bring the unbelief into the light instead of hiding it behind religious-sounding certainty.
PrayerJesus, I believe—help my unbelief. Take the fragile trust I bring and aim Your power at what I cannot fix alone. Amen.
