A Clean Heart
Matthew 11:30For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.
Jesus offers an easy yoke and a light burden—shocking after religious systems that crush. A yoke still means work and direction; easy means well-fitted, shared with Him. If your discipleship feels like hauling stone alone, you may be wearing the wrong yoke—people-pleasing, perfectionism, or fear dressed as holiness. Come back to Jesus' own pace. Light burden does not erase responsibility; it relocates it under grace. Advent can become heavy with expectation. Ask Christ to adjust the fit. Trade harsh self-talk for His tutoring. Serve from rest rather than for worth. The One born in Bethlehem still teaches gentle rhythms to tired apprentices. Rest beside Him long enough to notice which loads were never His assignment for you.
PrayerGentle Master, fit Your yoke to my shoulders. Lift burdens You never asked me to carry, and teach me the lightness of walking with You. Amen.
