Victory Softly
Matthew 7:24Everyone therefore who hears these words of mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man, who built his house on a rock.
Hearing without doing builds a house on sand; hearing with obedience sets a foundation on rock. Storms are assumed—rain, floods, winds. Wisdom is not storm avoidance; it is foundation choice. Advent sentiment can leave people inspired and unchanged. Jesus wants practice. Take one word of His that you already know—forgive, tell the truth, care for the poor, stay faithful in secret prayer—and do it before nightfall. Building happens in repetition. A single act will not finish the house, but refusing action guarantees collapse when weather hits. Check your foundation language: do you mostly consume Christian content, or do you obey? Let this verse turn inspiration into carpentry. Storms will test whether your Advent feelings became habits or remained seasonal decoration.
PrayerLord Jesus, I want rock under my life. Help me hear Your words and do them today, especially where I have preferred admiration to obedience. Amen.
