Matthew 6:34Therefore don't be anxious for tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Each day's own evil is sufficient.
Tomorrow owns enough trouble without your advance payments of anxiety. Jesus forbids borrowing next day's evil into today's nervous system. Provision worry loves to time-travel. You can plan without rehearsing disaster. Make a list if you must, then close the notebook and inhabit the hours you actually have. Each day carries a sufficiency of challenge—and, by implication, a sufficiency of mercy. When December's calendar looks crowded, practice same-day trust: handle this morning's need, pray about this afternoon's meeting, refuse to solve March while frosting cookies. Anxiety for tomorrow steals strength required for today's obedience. Let the boundary Jesus draws become a kindness to your body and a vote of confidence in the Father who will still be God at sunrise.
PrayerFather, I drop tomorrow's anxieties at Your feet. Give me grace for today's portion of trouble and trust for what I cannot yet see. Amen.
