Courage Rising
Micah 7:8Don't rejoice against me, my enemy. When I fall, I will arise. When I sit in darkness, the Lord will be a light to me.
Falling is admitted; rising is expected. Darkness is real; the Lord becomes light in it. Micah refuses enemy gloating the final word over his story. You may have stumbled—morally, financially, relationally—and felt people watch for your collapse to become permanent. This verse gives language for recovery without swagger. Arise is a resurrection-shaped verb. Sitting in darkness is not where the story sticks if the Lord is your light. Advent candles make the same point in ritual form: light increases against the year's longest nights. Name the fall honestly to God. Seek the rise that obedience and grace make possible. Do not grant mockers authority to narrate your ending. Walk toward the Light who enters darkness rather than denying it.
PrayerLord my light, when I fall, raise me. Shine in the dark places where shame and enemies expected me to stay down. Amen.
