Grace Sufficient
Isaiah 55:9For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.
Yesterday God's thoughts outran ours; today the distance is pictured as sky above earth. Advent humility deepens when we admit the gap is vertical, not slight. Higher ways include a Messiah arriving in obscurity while empires made noise. Your unanswered prayers may sit inside that same height—God working on a scale you cannot plot on a calendar app. This is not an excuse for passivity. It is permission to stop shrinking God to your preferred outcomes. When confusion presses, look up—literally, if the winter sky is clear—and remember that the distance between heaven and earth is also the distance love bridged in Christ. Trust becomes possible again when you stop requiring God to explain Himself on your whiteboard. Let higher thoughts mean wiser mercy than you would have designed.
PrayerMost High God, stretch my trust to match Your higher ways. In Advent quiet, I release the need to shrink Your plans to my understanding. Amen.
