Kindness of God
Psalm 37:25I have been young, and now am old, yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his children begging for bread.
An older saint testifies: across a lifetime, he has not seen the righteous forsaken or their children begging bread. The line is observational wisdom, not a mathematical absolute that denies every hard case. It witnesses to a pattern of God's care across years. When provision feels fragile, long view matters. God shepherds households through lean seasons in ways that short panic cannot imagine—through work, generosity from others, unexpected openings, and daily bread that arrives just in time. If you worry about the next generation, let this verse push you toward faithfulness now: integrity, prayer, teaching children to trust God, and practicing generosity even in small amounts. The point is not to shame anyone who has needed help; Scripture elsewhere commands care for the poor. The point is confidence that God does not abandon those who walk with Him.
PrayerFaithful God, I trust Your long care for my household. Provide bread for today, wisdom for tomorrow, and a legacy of seeking You across generations. Amen.
