Healing Takes Time
Psalm 147:3He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds.
God heals the brokenhearted and bandages their wounds—imagery as tender as a nurse's hands. Brokenheartedness can follow loss, betrayal, depression, or prolonged stress. The Lord does not lecture the wounded for bleeding; He binds. If your chest still aches from something you cannot fix with optimism, this verse gives you permission to be honest and hopeful at once. Healing may involve time, community, counseling, and prayer braided together. Ask God to bind the specific place that throbs when the house gets quiet. Receive care from people who know how to sit with pain without rushing you. Broken hearts are not disqualifications from faith; they are places where God's nearness becomes unmistakable. Let Him wrap what rawness you bring today, and trust that bandaged wounds can still become places of strength.
PrayerHealer of the brokenhearted, bind up what still bleeds in me. Use time, people, and Your Spirit to mend what I cannot stitch alone. Amen.
