The Storehouse of Mercy
Matthew 6:32For the Gentiles seek after all these things; for your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things.
Jesus contrasts anxious chasing with the Father's prior knowledge. People who do not know God scramble after basic needs as if the universe were indifferent. Disciples are invited into a different posture: your Father already knows. Knowledge here is caring knowledge, not cold data. That truth does not cancel job applications or grocery lists; it changes the emotional weather around them. You can pursue provision without treating every delay as abandonment. When you catch yourself striving as if unnoticed, pause and say the plain fact: my heavenly Father knows that I need these things. Then ask for the next wise action rather than for a full blueprint. Being known is the beginning of rest. Let that knowledge free you to work hard without the frantic edge that forgets prayer and gratitude.
PrayerHeavenly Father, You already know what I need. Deliver me from frantic chasing, and guide my diligent work with the rest that comes from being known by You. Amen.
