Light Breaks In
Isaiah 26:3You will keep whoever's mind is steadfast in perfect peace, because he trusts in you.
Isaiah links perfect peace to a mind that stays stayed on God. The Hebrew sense is a steadfast leaning—trust that keeps returning when distractions pull. Peace here is not the absence of bills, headlines, or hard emails; it is the guarded calm of someone whose confidence has a worthy object. When your thoughts ricochet, practice a simple return: breathe, name a true thing about God, and refuse to rehearse catastrophe for one full minute. Steadfastness is built in small repetitions more than in dramatic feelings. Trust is the reason peace holds; techniques help, but they are not the foundation. If anxiety has been loud, do not shame yourself for needing help from counselors or doctors. Use every wise tool while training your mind to lean again on the Lord who keeps those who trust Him.
PrayerGod of peace, steady my mind on You. Guard my thoughts when they scatter, deepen my trust, and keep me in the calm that comes from leaning on Your character. Amen.
