Renew the Inner Self
Jeremiah 30:17For I will restore health to you, and I will heal you of your wounds," says the Lord; "because they have called you an outcast, saying, 'It is Zion, whom no man seeks after.'
Jeremiah relays the Lord's promise to restore health and heal wounds for a people who had been mocked and displaced. The healing is personal and communal—God addressing injury caused by judgment and by enemies' scorn. If your body or spirit carries wounds, this word invites hope without denying the scar. Restoration in Scripture often arrives through process: confession, return, renewed trust, and the slow knitting of what was torn. Pair prayer with practical care. Tell God the specific wound you want Him to touch. Refuse both despair and denial. The same Lord who spoke through Jeremiah still binds up what life and sin have damaged. Let "I will restore" steady you when progress is uneven, and let gratitude mark even small improvements—a night of better sleep, a kinder thought toward yourself, a step you could not take last month.
PrayerLord who restores, heal what is wounded in me. Reverse scorn's echo, renew my health according to Your wisdom, and teach me to hope while I wait. Amen.
