John 3:17For God didn't send his Son into the world to judge the world, but that the world should be saved through him.
For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through Him. Mission stated by contrast: not condemn, but save. Sending the Son aims at rescue. October judgmental moods in culture and church need this corrective. Condemnation was not the Son's errand; salvation was. Through Him narrows the means. Hold a holy hatred of sin without confusing it with God's sending purpose. World remains the scope of saving love. Speak of Jesus as Savior more readily than as mascot for your anger. Saved through Him invites trust. If you feel only condemned, look again at why the Son was sent. Hope lives in that purpose clause. Share it with someone bracing for only judgment.
PrayerFather, You sent Your Son to save, not to condemn—help me trust and tell that purpose with clarity and hope. Amen.
