Body at Peace
Luke 4:18The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to heal the broken hearted, to proclaim release to the captives, recovering of sight to the blind, to deliver those who are crushed.
The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, because He has anointed Me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent Me to proclaim liberty to the captives and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed. Jesus reads His job description: good news, liberty, sight, freedom for the oppressed. Anointing for mission includes bodily and social healing alongside gospel words. Poor, captive, blind, oppressed—bring those categories to Him, whether they name you or someone you love. Recovering of sight can be physical or spiritual; liberty can be from sin, fear, or unjust chains. Cry to the anointed Lord to do this work in your clinic waiting room and your hidden captivity. Then join His mission in practical mercy. August is long enough for one liberating act in His name.
PrayerLord Jesus, anointed to free and heal—bring good news, liberty, and sight where I and others still wait. Amen.
