Light in the Valley
Matthew 9:12When Jesus heard it, he said to them, "Those who are healthy have no need for a physician, but those who are sick do."
Those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick. Jesus eats with sinners as a doctor with patients. Admission of sickness is the door; pride that claims wellness blocks care. Spiritual and physical sickness both fit the picture. Come as a patient, not as a consultant evaluating Jesus. Churches should be clinics of grace, not museums of the impressive. If you have been performing wellness while bleeding out, tell the Physician the truth today. If you love someone sick with sin or disease, bring them without contempt. Need is not shame in His presence. The physician metaphor keeps hope practical: diagnosis, presence, healing on His terms. Sit at the table with Him among the sick and find yourself welcomed.
PrayerLord Jesus, I am sick and need You as Physician. Save me from fake wellness, and make me gentle with other patients. Amen.
