He Heals Gently
Proverbs 4:20My son, attend to my words. Turn your ear to my sayings.
My son, be attentive to my words; incline your ear to my sayings. Attention is a healing practice. Inclining the ear means leaning toward wisdom rather than scrolling past it. Many bodily and emotional harms worsen in noise and neglect of counsel. Be attentive: put the phone down long enough for Scripture to finish a sentence. Incline toward sayings that correct you, not only ones that soothe. A father's wisdom voice in Proverbs becomes God's voice to adult children still tempted by distraction. Health begins partly in what you are willing to hear. Give twenty undistracted minutes to the Word today. Let sayings sink past the surface. Attentive people catch warnings early and catch comfort too. Lean in before crisis forces the lesson.
PrayerLord, make me attentive to Your words. I incline my ear—let Your sayings shape my health and my habits. Amen.
