Advent Quiet
Romans 5:5And hope doesn't disappoint us, because God's love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who was given to us.
Hope does not disappoint because God's love has been poured out in our hearts through the Holy Spirit. Poured love is experiential gift, not theory. Disappointment fears often target relationships—will people leave, will God prove distant? The Spirit's poured love answers with abundance inside the believer. Lent openness to the Spirit matters as much as dropping chocolate. Ask to know God's love more concretely. May that poured love spill toward someone hard to cherish. Hope's reliability is tethered to love already given, not to outcomes you control. Receive first; then relate from fullness rather than from needy panic. Poured-out love is the Spirit's present tense gift. Hold out your heart like a cup, then spill kindness toward a hard person.
PrayerHoly Spirit, pour God's love afresh into my heart. Anchor my hope and make me able to love others from what You give. Amen.
