Anchored Soul

I have told you these things, that in me you may have peace. In the world you have oppression; but cheer up! I have overcome the world.

John 16:33

In Jesus you may have peace; in the world, oppression; take heart—He has overcome the world. Lent does not deny pressure; it locates peace in a Person who has already won the decisive conflict. Overcoming language is past-tense victory with present comfort. When headlines and private struggles shout domination, answer with Christ's finished triumph. Peace in Him can coexist with tears. Take heart is a command for discouraged disciples. Practice switching sources: less doom-scrolling, more communion with the Overcomer. Lent's seriousness pairs with courage, not with gloom as a personality. Christ has overcome; walk into the day on that fact. Overcome is Christ's status before it becomes your feeling. Borrow His victory when your courage runs low midafternoon.

PrayerJesus, my peace is in You. When the world presses hard, remind me You have overcome, and put courage back into my chest. Amen.
