God Walks Slow With You
Psalm 46:10Be still, and know that I am God. I will be exalted among the nations. I will be exalted in the earth.
Be still, and know that I am God—cease striving long enough to recognize who rules. Exaltation among nations is His project; your panic is not required to keep the world spinning. Stillness is a health practice for the soul and often for the body: breath slows, cortisol drops, perspective returns. Knowing God as God relocates you as creature—beloved, limited, held. January's last day is a fair time to stop managing imaginary outcomes. Sit five quiet minutes without inputs. Speak the verse until your pulse agrees. Exalted God can handle what you release. Stillness is not emptiness; it is fullness of recognition. Stillness that recognizes God will send you back to work lighter and clearer. Let recognition of His rule end the month better than control ever could.
PrayerGod, I still my striving to know that You are God. Be exalted in my sight and over my worries as this month ends. Amen.
