Wise and Trusting
Psalm 65:9You visit the earth, and water it. You greatly enrich it. The river of God is full of water. You provide them grain, for so you have ordained it.
God visits the earth, waters it, enriches it, and provides grain. Agriculture becomes theology: provision is personal attention to soil and stomach. Your grocery run participates in a larger story of divine watering. Gratitude for food reconnects shopping to worship. If scarcity worries you, remember the river of God is described as full—imagery of sufficient supply at the source. Steward soil, budgets, and leftovers wisely as people who know where grain ultimately comes from. Pray for farmers and supply chains you never see. Praise the Visitor who still enriches the earth midwinter when growth looks paused. Provision is not abstract; it is bread traced back to rain and to God. Tracing supper back to rain is a simple way to keep pride out of the pantry.
PrayerGod who waters the earth, thank You for grain and every meal. Provide for my household and for those whose fields or tables are bare today. Amen.
