Psalm 23:1The Lord is my shepherd: I shall lack nothing.
"The Lord is my shepherd" is a confession before it is a comfort. Shepherd means guidance, protection, and provision in a world of predators and sparse pasture. "I shall lack nothing" is not a promise of luxury; it is confidence that the Shepherd's care matches real need. Picture a long hallway of due dates and decisions. The Shepherd walks it with you, pacing the day so that panic does not get to set the schedule. Lack of trust can feel like lack of money even when the fridge is not empty. Return to the opening line and make it personal again. Ask where you have been trying to self-shepherd through control. Yield that stretch of path. Provision often arrives as guidance first—clarity about what to do next—and then as the means to do it.
PrayerShepherd of my life, I trust Your care. Lead me so that true needs are met, and free me from calling every want a crisis. Amen.
