Strength Rising
Psalm 103:2Praise the Lord, my soul, and don't forget all his benefits.
The psalmist coaches his own soul to praise and to remember. Forgetfulness is a spiritual hazard; benefits uncounted become benefits unnoticed. Healing, forgiveness, and daily mercies can blur into background noise until crisis makes us suddenly attentive. Start a brief inventory: sleep you did receive, a friendship that held, a body that carried you through yesterday, pardon for a sin you confessed. Praise is not denial of what still hurts; it is refusal to let pain monopolize the narrative. Speaking to your soul—"don't forget"—is a form of holy self-leadership. Write three benefits before the day hardens into complaint. Share one of them out loud with someone else. Memory practiced this way becomes fuel for endurance, especially when health feels fragile and you need reasons to keep thanking God in the middle of treatment or fatigue.
PrayerLord, I stir my soul to praise You. Remind me of benefits I have glossed over, and let gratitude strengthen me while I still ask for healing. Amen.
