God Knows the Number
Matthew 6:26See the birds of the sky, that they don't sow, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns. Your heavenly Father feeds them. Aren't you of much more value than they?
Jesus points to birds that neither farm nor warehouse grain, yet they eat. The lesson is not laziness; it is trust. Your heavenly Father feeds them, and you matter more. Anxiety about provision often imagines a closed universe where only your hustle stands between you and lack. Jesus opens the window: the Father is already attentive. Watching a sparrow at a feeder can become a miniature sermon if you let it. Work diligently, plan wisely, and still refuse the lie that everything depends on your white-knuckle control. When fear about money spikes, step outside if you can, or simply look out a window, and remember that care for small creatures is already happening without your management. Then return to your responsibilities lighter—diligent, yes, but not alone in the feeding of your household.
PrayerHeavenly Father, I matter to You more than the birds I notice today. Quiet my money-fear, guide my work, and feed what You have entrusted to my care. Amen.
