Lifted From Weariness
Isaiah 53:5But he was pierced for our transgressions. He was crushed for our iniquities. The punishment that brought our peace was on him; and by his wounds we are healed.
Isaiah's Servant Song looks ahead to a suffering Redeemer whose wounds become the means of peace. Christians read this in light of Jesus—pierced, crushed, bearing what we could not carry. Healing here is bigger than a symptom chart: it includes forgiveness, restored fellowship with God, and hope that reaches body and soul. If you are praying for physical recovery, hold this verse without turning it into a guarantee that pain must vanish on your timeline. The cross assures you that God takes wounds seriously and that peace with Him is already secured in Christ. Bring your hurt to the One who was wounded for you. Seek prayer and wise care together. Let "by his wounds" steady you when healing is slow, and let gratitude rise for the deeper cure—sins forgiven, shame lifted, a future held by the risen Lord.
PrayerWounded Healer, thank You for peace purchased at such cost. Forgive what I confess, sustain my body, and keep my hope fixed on Your finished work. Amen.
