Courage to Rest
Isaiah 43:19Behold, I will do a new thing. It springs out now. Don't you know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert.
Behold, I am doing a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it? I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert. God announces newness with an attention question: do you perceive it? Wilderness and desert are real health landscapes—barren schedules, dry hope, no obvious path. Rivers there are gift, not mirage you invent. Perception matters because cynicism can miss springing life. Look for the new thing without demanding it match your preferred script: a reconciled word, unexpected strength, a door of help. Healing often begins as a spring before it becomes a landscape. Beg Him for eyes that see what He is doing. Then step toward the way God is cutting rather than camping forever in the complaint that nothing changes.
PrayerLord, You are doing a new thing—give me eyes to perceive it. Make a way in my wilderness and water in dry ground. Amen.
