Room to Forgive
1 John 4:8He who doesn't love doesn't know God, for God is love.
Not loving signals not knowing God, because God is love. John makes theology practical and searching. Knowledge of God that leaves relationships cold is suspect. Love here is holy and self-giving, matching God's character—not vague niceness. After Christmas gatherings, you may know exactly who is hard to love. Start with knowing God more truly through Scripture and prayer, then let that knowledge warm your posture. Ask forgiveness where coldness revealed distance from God's heart. Practice one act of costly care this week. Knowing God and loving people are braided; pulling them apart leaves both damaged. Let God's love-nature reshape how you enter the next conversation that usually goes sour. Knowledge that never becomes love is a warning light, not a badge.
PrayerGod who is love, I want to know You in truth. Melt what is cold in me, and make my relationships evidence that I walk with You. Amen.
